3rd day in India-

This morning, there's a constant flow of people past my window. Mostly school children of all ages walking to school at this time of the morning-0700. All in various styles of uniform dress in burgundy or dark blue. The girls either have their hair covered with a colored piece of uniform cloth, or wrapped in a piece of cloth with most of the hair wrapped up in it, in a bun.
Today I teach from 3pm-5pm. I will be teaching admission, assessment and management of the high risk newborn to 3rd year students.
Dr. D, myself, and Professor Portwood walked up to the College of Nursing this am. Met with the faculty, and spoke to the 1st and 2nd yr students. We each provided introductions about where we started out in nursing, what we've been doing, and what we're doing in nursing now.
Then back down to our 'home' to have lunch and back up the hill to class by 3pm. I taught my first actual nursing school group of students this afternoon, 49 students!
I was nervous-so, I started out too fast, dry mouth, forgot things I wanted to say-for about 10 min. Then I settled in. I have taught clinical students to this point. Classes I've given at work have usually gone much more smoothly. Dr. Derstine was present for some of my class-when she came in, then I got nervous again, only for a short time.
The students were all respectful of me, as they are with all of their teachers. Everything they say ends with "Mamm" and they won't leave the classroom until after I do!
All for now-have to prepare for tomorrow's class! Have to do better!

The country's slogan is-"Incredible India"--it really is. Every day I'm amazed at the beauty of the Himalayas!
Below are pics of some of our wild friends-they're actually sort of mean---
